ZACHARY SHERIDAN (he/him)

Zachary Sheridan is a theatre-maker from Adelaide. His first play, Head Case, was shortlisted for the New Plot award and performed at 107 Projects in conjunction with Actors Centre Australia in April, 2017. His second play, The Cockburn Incident (performed at Centre for Stories), received the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Tour Ready Award. WAAPA credits include: Solo Stage: Moments of Being and The Secret Project: Dispatch (directed by Barney O’Hanlon of SITI Company). In 2017, Zach also devised and performed in The Improvement Movement (which received ‘Best Of’ as part of The Blue Room Theatre’s 600 SECONDS program) and walked for 24 hours straight in a walking performance to raise money for beyondblue.

 

In 2018, Zach assistant directed The Last Great Hunt’s Improvement Club, collaborated and performed in their hotel site-specific Stay With Us, and wrote and performed in Cookies & Cream, which premiered as part of WAAPA’s TILT program before touring to Adelaide. Zach also adapted Franz Kafka’s The Trial, which was performed at Spare Parts Puppet Theatre. In 2019, Zachary wrote GRACE (Winner of a 2019 Fringe World Weekly Theatre Award), The Dead (Winner of the 2019 State Theatre Company South Australia Flinders University Young Playwrights' Award), and UEVOLITUB (Winner of Best Play at WAYTCo's 24 Hour Play Generator). Zach was the writer and director of the experimental performance work, I Feel Fine, a church for the eco-anxious, which received The Blue Room Theatre’s 2019 Judges Award and was nominated for Best Independent Production at the Performing Arts WA Awards. Zach graduated top of his class at WAAPA in 2018 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Performance Making) and received First Class Honours from the VCA, graduating in 2021 with a Masters of Theatre (Directing).
